Protect our schools during state budget rebalancing

Hood River County School District (HRCSD) is facing significant challenges as state-level budget reductions are being discussed. Now, more than ever, the voices of HRCSD board members and the broader community are critical in ensuring our students receive the resources they deserve.

HRCSD is taking an active stand. The school district has officially joined five neighboring school districts and the Coalition of Oregon School Administrators (COSA) in a formal letter to the Ways and Means Co-Chairs. HRCSD requests that the proposed cuts be removed during the state’s current rebalancing process.

How you can help

We encourage every community member to contact our state legislators. We are specifically advocating for:

  • The use of the Education Stability Fund to bridge current gaps.
  • The protection of the local option equalization grant, which is vital for our district's financial health.

Your advocacy makes a tangible difference in the legislative process. Please use the link here to access our letter template and find your local representative.
